A Unique Experience Customizing My Living Room Pieces

I was recently invited to the Grand Opening Week of Bassett’s new store in Coral Gables, FL where I was greeted by a friendly team of staff and design consultants.
As I entered the newly finished building, my creative juices began flowing while I walked through their beautifully styled displays. The design team took my vision and customized it just the way I wanted it.
Crystal, my design consultant, showed me many fabric samples, wood finishes, metallic options, the choices were vast and yet the design seamlessly and effortlessly came together with her help. It was so refreshing to have an expert’s advice and opinion, a free service that Bassett offers to all their customers.
I had perused Bassett’s website countless times and walked in with a preconceived notion of what I wanted to order, but let me tell you that once I saw the customization options I had with each and every piece, my list was completely altered! For the better I might add!
In this day and age of online shopping and next day delivery, it equates to as I like to call it, disposable furniture. You get what you pay for. It may look good on line but doesn’t hold up to the wear and tear of everyday life, the color is off, or the size doesn’t fit properly. Have you ever tried to return something of that magnitude, it’s a lot of complicated work. I had been down that road, spent countless hours, wasted lots of money and ultimately didn’t attain what I had set out to do. I wound up living with my mistakes instead of living in a space I would enjoy for years to come.
So it was a refreshing change to have a design consultant assist me with my investment quality pieces, offer her expertise with color combinations, upholstery, finishes, textures, wood tones, etc.
As we selected pieces, we added the Guardsman Gold Protection Plan to ensure that my furniture will remain looking new for a very long time! She then helped me accessorize my room with pillows, lighting, and artwork too.
Crystal entered it all into a computerized layout for me to approve which solidified my choices and said that she will personally send me weekly updates on my order.
Once everything was finalized, Crystal said she’d see me on delivery day to ensure it all comes together just the way I wanted. It was obvious she was there to help, not just sell. A sense of confidence was established, and all doubt removed. I was not nervous about my choices, but excited about my living room design.
